My Rating:

Shiva! The Mahadev. The God of gods. Destroyers of Evil. Passionate Lover. Fierce Warrior. Consummate dancer. Charismatic leader. All-powerful, yet incorruptible. Quick wit, accompanied by equally quick and fearsome temper – The Secret Of the Nagas

The Secrets of the Nagas is the second part of much acclaimed Shiva Trilogy and the highly awaited sequel to The Immortals of Meluha, written by the Indian author, Amish. The Secret of the Nagas picks up from where the reader was left in the “The Immortal of Meluha“.

At the end of the “The Immortal of Meluha“, Sati was kidnapped by the mysterious Naga warrior and Shiva’s journey of rescuing her and lifting the mysterious veil of the Nagas will form the major crux of this second book. A lot of the questions that the reader has in mind will be revealed.

There were very interesting moments like Shiva and Daksha’s emotions on the birth of Kartik, Love between Anandmayi and Parvateshwar, Shiva’s astonishment to meet Ganesh and many more.

But, the book is not perfect either. There were some lacking points and then never addressed again, or explained properly like the “ritual” the Branga people perform in Kashi – what is that ritual and why they are performing? Or this mysterious plague that seems to affect them, nothing is mentioned as to what it is or why it is happening or how it started and it is never brought up again. Hope, those will cover up in next book.

Overall the journey and sheer brilliance of story telling makes Amish stand out…Definitely book is page turner and many surprises gets unfolded in the middle of the book.

Amazing Sequel.Get it and Read it.

  2. Amish. I thought it non fictional and it was not. A worshiper of Shiva, me , and the humanization of my inner self.. All said and done book took me by awe , admiration as it goes. Brilliant idea, conceptualization..You did great. Concept of Vasudeva to bring the spiritual concepts authentically, I liked it. So Congrats. Keep it up..
